Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any joining fees or hidden costs?

No, the price you see is what you pay.

I've just bought a membership online, what happens next?

After making your purchase, you'll receive four emails with these subjects:

  • Thank you for joining: Confirming the membership type chosen, the upfront cost, and monthly cost (if applicable)

  • Your Ashbourne Management Services Ltd receipt: Your receipt for the upfront payment

  • City Fitness - Member Information: Containing a link to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), which is essential for activating your membership

  • Your Gym Access: Instructions on how to download the app and login, or how to use your entry code on the out-of-hours door instead

Once you've completed the requested actions, you're ready to use the gym straight away.

Do I need an app to access the gym?

You do yes, you'll need to scan your membership QR card from the app to gain access to the gym during staffed and unstaffed hours. You can read more about it on our Access & Safety page.

Will I get a membership reference number?

When you join online, Ashbourne Management Services Ltd (our member services provider) will assign you a membership reference number, which starts with GRDY. You can find this in your confirmation email.

What is an induction, and do I need one?

An induction is a free 30-60 minute initial session from one of our personal trainers showing you the basics of the gym, and how to use the equipment safely. They're optional, but we would recommend having one if a gym environment is new to you, or you haven't been to one in a while. To arrange your free induction please get in contact using WhatsApp to find a time that suits you.

Do you offer free trial sessions?

We don't, but our cheap and flexible Day Passes are an excellent way of trying out our facilities before committing to a membership.

Do you allow younger members under 16 years old to join?

City Fitness isn't best suited for younger members due to the range of equipment available. We may accept younger members, but supervision from a parent or care giver would be required at all times, and access to certain areas of the gym would be restricted. Please get in touch with use via WhatsApp to discuss.

How do I find the Terms & Conditions of my membership?

These will of been included in the confirmation email sent to you when you joined online, but you can also view them on Ashbourne's website.
